The Universe strives for Balance

I woke up this morning and checked my e-mail. Yesterday got off to a nice start when I learned I'd been declared a runner-up in a writing contest.
Today? I got a form rejection letter from an agent and a polite rejection letter from an online mag I submitted a story to.
I'm not terribly surprised by either, but it would have been nice to get these later in the day. Now, the start of my day feels slightly sour.
Ah well.
Life goes on.
