Jun. 27th, 2015 08:37 pmFuuuuuuck.
My FB feed has exploded with people 'commenting' on marriage equality and the Confederate flag. I am so fucking over all of that shit, I just want to unfollow EVERYBODY.
It's ironic that my Twitter feed has been a hell of a lot more 'mature' than FB.
Ugh.
In other news, summer is totally kicking my ass. It's hot as balls at the store and all the customers are moaning and bitching about it, but the boss isn't gonna do shit because he's trying to sell the place. Why sink money into something you're actively trying to divest yourself of?
Not a lot else going on.
I'm still gaming on Sunday night at my local game shop and it's the highlight of my week. Honestly, I look forward to going there all week.
We're supposed to start our 'official' campaign this week. I think we're doing D&D 3.5. I have no idea what sort of character I want to play, but I sort of have this horrible desire to try my hand at a bard. (I know! Someone save me from myself!)
I just finished rereading Nancy Collins Sunglasses at Night. Oh, Sonia Blue! How I have missed you! Next up on the readlist: The Windup Girl. Or maybe something from Gene Wolf.
About five years ago I stuck my toe in the self-publishing water by writing an RPG setting book called Winter City: City of Marvels. Maybe it's the gaming, but I'm sort of thinking of doing something similar again. I'm slowly putting together a bunch of notes on some things and may see if I can find an artist to do some illustrations. I've got a coworker who could do it, but her style is very cutesy Disney, so I don't really think it would fit with my mental vision.
Oh! And for anyone out there reading X-Men '92, I totally know the guys who wrote it. Chad Bowers is super-nice and he signed my print copy last Wednesday. So please he's getting a chance to strut his stuff on a bigger stage. :)
TV? Ugh. TV is a wasteland. I caught the first ep of Killjoys and thought it had some potential, but I'm not sold. Not yet. Watched part of the season 3 opener of Defiance and, no. Just...no. Am tempted to watch Dark Matter but so far I have fought the urge. I was watching Penny Dreadful but stopped and am now waiting for the whole season to become available on Amazon.
Movies? I saw Inside Out and wish that I hadn't. It's no Up.
Internet? Yes. Please. I am LIVING on YouTube and GeekandSundry.com. Also, Synthetic Picturehause is gearing up for a new season of WishIt Inc. Hurrah! Alas, the estate of the guy who wrote The Addams Family comics has issued a C&D against one of my favorite YouTube Channels, Adult Wednesday Addams. Bastards.
Writing? Sure. But I'm not talking about it.
And that's pretty much a wrap.
