Taking a moment to step away from the dinner table and look at some fandom stuff.
There's rumors that Chris Chibnall and Jodie Whitaker are done with Doctor Who, that Chibnall refused to take notes from the BBC re the show and got fired, so Whitaker left with him in a show of support. There's a faction on the Internet that's gleefully hoping this rumor is true, but my thought is: Chibnall and Whitaker were supposed to leave the show after this season anyway. So why are they getting so worked up about this rumor?
Also, finally had a chance to watch 'Titans.' My biggest complaints about the show are that the characters are super-dark and that Brenton Thwaites, who plays Dick Grayson, isn't good-looking enough. Also, from what I've seen, he doesn't have much of a bum and we all know that Dick Grayson/Nightwing is known for his champion ass. Oh. And this version of Raven is way too wishy-washy.
Still haven't managed to finish 'Doom Patrol' but I really want to. My favorite character is Rita. The others are ok, although I think Crazy Jane is just too angry in the show. In the comics, she was sort of laconic. And kudos to Brendan Frazier for giving a bang-up performance as Cliff Steel. Who knew he had it in him?
Finally, I sort of want to go and see 'Scary Stores to Read in the Dark' but I mostly don't. I just don't like scary movies that much any more, but I'm curious as to how well they captured the flavor of the books.
