NaStoWriMo - Day 11
So, what happened? Why did you lose interest in your story, Mel?
Honestly? I'm not sure. But it's been happening a lot lately.
The must be very discouraging.
Oh, it is. Very discouraging.
How would you have ended the story?
I have no idea. The settlement survivors would have loaded up in a convoy and headed east, where they would have run into the Zombie Horde. Some would die, but most would get back east, to the fortified city-state. It would have ended with the convoy pulling up outside enormous closed gates.
So why don't you write that?
Because I got bored. I lost interest. I couldn't see myself slogging through 20 more days of half paragraphs detailing mindless conversations between characters in ruckety, rolling trucks. I kept remembering those episodes of M.A.S.H. where the 4077 had to bug out and they would jump from truck to truck, telling little pieces of the same story. I just couldn't think of any way to make that interesting.
Do you feel like your excuse for stopping is sad and pathetic?
Yes, yes I do. *hangs head in shame*
Has it occurred to you that not everything you write has to be adventurous? I mean, you can write something other than penii and explosions.
Can I? Sometimes I wonder.
