I'm trying to post more frequently and with more varied content as talking about food all the time is a bit dull.
Today, I drove out to a state park about 50 miles northeast of my home. It's a nice, quiet park that doesn't seem to get a lot of visitors, but is nicely maintained and very tranquil. Every time I've been there, however, it's rained. Today, I was walking the trail loop without my umbrella and got caught in the downpour. Thankfully, it's still in the 80s here.
Afterwards, as I was driving home, I ran over something in the road. I don't know what it was, but it freaked me out. I hate the thought of breaking down and having to change a tire as I'm not the most mechanically inclined. I was going to stop by a garage and have them check my tires, but it was nearly five and they were all closing, so I just came on home. As far as I can tell, my tires were okay, but if I get up in the morning and one's flat I won't be entirely shocked.
I have discovered I don't enjoy straight cranberry juice. It's too tart and makes the roof of my mouth feel all prickly. So, tonight I got some cran-grape juice, which seems to go down much better.
Supper tonight was light. A can of cheese raviolli (fingers crossed it doesn't muck up my stomach), a protein shake and, waiting in the wings, a couple of Activia yogurts and a banana.
My left side is still, well, not sore, but THERE, and I'm thinking I may have to break down and go see a quack a.k.a. doctor. In case you can't tell, I loathe going to doctors as their usual response is to let the nurse take all your info, then talk to their clipboard for five minutes, before giving you some pills and telling you to call back if things don't improve.
Pheh.
