DVDs
I rented a couple of movies over the weekend: The Specials and Noble Son.
The Specials is a favorite film of mine; its a superhero spoof following an average day in the life of the Specials, "the sixth or seventh greatest superhero team in the world." The movie alone is pretty funny, but the commentary version is even funnier. I kind of wish they would do a follow up to the movie, just to poke some holes in all the angst-ridden superhero stuff coming out of Hollywood these days.
Noble Son is a caper movie. I don't know if it ever made it to theaters or just went straight to DVD. If it was the later, I totally understand why. Even for a caper movie, the storyline is a bit too convoluted. And, I have to admit, the first scene put me off; it shows a guy getting his thumb cut off with a meat cleaver. Can I get an "Ewwwww!" from the audience, please?
I'm not sure I'd rec Noble Son, but I would totally recommend The Specials.
