So, I'm here in South Carolina. Got in yesterday around 4:00 PM local time. The flight from Anchorage to Portland was okay, but I thought I was going to get sick on the Portlant to Atlanta connection. No really rough turbulance, just lack of sleep, and on the descent I felt like I was leaving my stomach behind me. The less said about the flight from Anchorage to Columbia the better. They stuck me in a puddlejumper that was cramped and overheated. I swear, I sweated off five pounds in the hour it took to get from Atlanta to Columbia.
It's strange being back in my old home town. Things have changed so much since I left. Hell, things have changed so much since my last visit five or six years ago.
Mom is doing well, although she now looks surprisingly like my Grandma. And, just between us, if I ever think of myself as a bad housekeeper all I have to do now is think of my Mom's house. She's really let the place go. It's just dirty. I guess she's become one of those people who decides 'clean enough' is better than 'clean.'
At the moment, it's a little after seven in the morning and I'm up because of the birds. I'd forgotten how much noise birds make first thing in the morning.
Damn irritating.
No solid plans yet, today, but tomorrow my sister and her family are supposed to come up. Then Monday and Tuesday I have to amuse myself.
