Free Day!

So, it's the end of the old and the beginning of the new.

Starting today, I won't be weighing myself to judge my weight-loss progress. Instead, I'll just be going by weekly calories consumed, the way that my clothes feel, how I feel and how tight I can cinch my belt.

This coming week, I'm aiming for about 13,000 cals. That's a little over 1800 cals a day.

It should be fine.

Anyway, I'll talk with you guys later!

Hrm.

So.

Last week I weighed 212 lbs. That was good. I was pleased. Then I had my Free Day.

The next morning, out of curiosity, I stepped on the scale and saw that I was at 220 lbs.

Now, there's no way that I could have gained 8 lbs overnight. Even water weight doesn't accumulate THAT quickly and, trust me, I did not eat 8 lbs of food in one night.

All this week, I've been getting up, using the toilet, and then stepping on the scale. And my weight has gone down.

According to my weight this morning, I've lost 5 lbs of the eight I supposedly gained last week.

At this point, I don't know what the hell is going on. Is it me? Is it the scale? I don't know.

But it's pissing me off.

UPDATE:

So, today I ate fairly light considering it was my Free Day.

I ate:
1 20 oz Cherry Pepsi
10 cashews
1 bowl of chicken salad w/peas
1 small bag of chilli cheese Fritos.

I think I may have to do away with my Free Day. :/

212 lbs.

Yeesss!!!

Last week my scale died on me and by the time I got a new battery and checked my weight it wasn't accurate. It said I weighed 220 at the time, which I don't believe.

So, either I was retaining a LOR of water weight or I somehow managed to lose 8 lbs in a week.

I don't think I've lost 8 solid pounds in a week.

In any event, I don't care.

The last time I accurately weighed myself I was at 213 lbs.

Now I'm at 212 lbs.

Progress!

213 lbs.

Yay!

I've lost 3 lbs since last week!

I am now back to where I was at the beginning of March!

Hahaha!

I am not doing a Free Day today, because I had one last Sunday, so I'm going to do a max of 1800 cals today. I'm aiming for 1200 but if I fall anywhere between those two numbers, I'm good with it. :)

So, I'm still at 216.

I have not gained weight this week, which I will count as a victory.

Yay!

The real test, however, will be this coming Tuesday, as I am now at home for the duration. However, I am trying to keep myself busy. I am writing and I am thinking of doing a series of reading videos on YouTube. I just need to find something I want to read that people might be interested in.

I'm tempted to read Neil Gaiman's 'Neverwhere.' He gave permission to anyone who wanted to read his works and post them online during the current pandemic.

I could also read the first Hercule Poirot story, 'The Affair at Styles.' It is the first, and only, Poirot story in the public domain.

I'm about to make my YT video and then after that I'm going to walk up to the convenience store and get some snacks.

Tomorrow is going to be . . . interesting. They start officially limiting the number of people who can go into stores and you're not supposed to go out unless you're going to work, getting exercise or buying necessary items.

Gained two pounds since last week.

No surprise.

Not making any excuses.

It's just a trying time for everyone.

Eh.

I gained a pound over the last two weeks.

Considering the amount I've been stress eating I'm just glad it's not more.

Today, I stepped on the scale and discovered that I'd lost 4 lbs over the last two weeks.

Hurrah for me!

Not sure if this means the plateau has been broken or what, but it's nice to see the scale's number going down again. :)

Still at 216.

Hurrah?

I forget if I mentioned it here or not, but I'm going to stop weighing myself every week. So, I will NOT step on the scale again until January 21.

Until then, I'm just going to try and take it easy. :)

I stepped on the scale today and it read 216.

Yay!

Then, after a moment, it blinked and read 217.

Huh?

Then, a minute later, it changed to 218.

At that point, I stepped off the scale and decided that I should go with the first number.

:D

Back down to 216 lbs after last week's weight gain.

How the hell did that happen? LOL!

I'm not going to worry about it too much, I'm just going to enjoy the results. :)

Fuck.

Last week, I was at 216 lbs.

Today, I'm at 221 lbs.

It's been a stressful week and stress makes me binge and that's what happened. I was okay until this past Sunday, and then I didn't just go off the rails, diet-wise, I drove the train off the rails.

Again: Fuck.

FUCK.

FFUUUCCCCKKKKK.

So, yeah. It didn't help last night that I drank half a bottle of rum.

I have got to get myself under control.

I have got to stop binging when I get emotional.

God, I feel like I'm in my 20s again.

So, that's the plan for the rest of the week.

Get our shit under control.

Get back on track.

Stop. Fucking. Drinking.

Stop buying shit food.

Get. Better.

Gratitude. Today I am grateful for my ability to recognize my own faults and, hopefully, take action to correct them.

I lost another pound.

Yay!

I'm now down to 216 lbs.

And,as I'm typing this, I'm eating a big pizza from Marcos. LOL.

One pound off, six pounds on! :D

I stepped on the scale this afternoon and discovered that I'd lost a pound.

Don't ask me how, with all the food I've eaten since Thanksgiving.

I also checked my numbers, and I'll be adjusting my calories & protein starting tomorrow.

New caloric range is 1200 to 1700 cals a day to lose weight. Actually, I can hit 2000 cals a day if I want, but that will slow my weight loss.

My current BMI is 30.3. I'm still considered Obese but I'm now Obese Class 1, as opposed to Obese Class 2. I lose two more pounds and I'll just be considered Overweight. At 179 lbs I'll be Normal. Hahahaha.

Yeah.

Right. "Normal" is something that happens to other people. :)

My daily protein is now at 55 grams per day, minimum.

Today, I am grateful for patience and progress. Both in myself and the people around me.

I'm back down to 218 lbs.

This seems to be a pattern with me lately. I gain weight then lose it. Then lose a little more. Then gain weight again.

I wonder if this is a sign that my metabolism is getting used to my diet/activity level?

Hmm.

Anyway, today is not a FREE DAY. That will be this Thursday a.k.a. Thanksgiving.

Today will be a 1500 calorie day.

I'll update later, when I know what I'm going to eat.

Last week I was at 218, just barely.

This week, I'm at 219.

Eh.

Not worried. I know where the weight came from. Yesterday, while I was out shopping I ate a bunch of cookies and then, at the end of the day, had a bbq plate.

I regret the bbq plate as it pushed me over my caloric limit and, also, it just didn't taste that great. The rice was undercooked.

Today, I weigh 218 lbs.

Barely?

I'm not sure. My scale was acting odd. It may need new batteries.

In any event, I'm saying 218 and taking it as a win.

Also, it is FUCKING COLD here today!

Woohoo!

Stepped on the scale this morning and I'm down to 219 lbs!

I have now officially lost all the weight I gained after quitting keto, PLUS more!

I haven't been this light in decades!

Well, fuck.

I knew it was going to happen.

You knew it was going to happen.

I gained 2 lbs.

Damn.

I know why. I went back and looked at my food journal here, and some FB posts, and it's because I had a couple of days when I went off the chart, calory-wise.

Still, after almost 5 months (4 months, 3 weeks) of losing weight the fact that I've only NOW gained a couple of pounds back is NOT disheartening.

Honestly, I thought this would happen sooner.

But it's happened now and what am I going to do?

Well, I'm not going to go crazy. I'm not going to limit myself to 1000 calories a day for the next week or anything like that. I'm going to get back to working my program as best as I can. Which, admittedly, will be somewhat challenging this week since Halloween is Thursday and I was planning to binge on candy corn and Snickers bars.

I think those plans might need to change.

Anyway, for the immediate future, I'm just going to live my life. Today is Tuesday. It's my Free Day. I have a YouTube video to make, talking about this subject (which I'm so looking forward to - NOT), and then I'm going to run some errands and probably get something to eat.

Weirdly, I'm craving brussel sprouts.

More later.

I am down to 221 lbs.

Yay!

I have now lost all the weight that I gained when I went off of Keto.

When I hit 220, I will be in weight-territory that I haven't occupied for AGES.

Yay!
