2010 has come to a close and the holiday season is officially over.
Thank God.
Last night it was like fucking Beirut in my neighborhood. The city relaxed its ban on fireworks and everyone and their brother was out, shooting off cherry bombs and skyrockets and what have you until about one in the morning. I'm amazed the city is still standing!
Today has been understated. I feel domestic, as I always do on the first day of the New Year. I took out the garbage and have been eying the bedclothes, which need a good wash, but so far haven't done anything about them. I should check my mail, which I haven't done in about two weeks, and there's been a load of clothes in the dryer for about half that time. Really, these are things I should be doing. But I'm not.
Also, spent some time on the phone today, chatting with former Coworker Yolanda, who is feeling sickly, and my Mom, who is as irrepressible as ever.
Now, I'm thinking I should hit the laptop. Cause I'm feeling that old creative urge to write.
