Aug. 5th, 2011 10:28 amSo, is anyone on the flist reading Dance of Dragons? I got the preview on my Kindle and am fighting the urge to do the download.
In other news, I have given Alphas, the "Skiffy" Network's newest show, the axe. It was boring and I didn't like any of the characters. The only reason I may watch the next ep is because Lindsey Wagner is in it, and it looks like she's playing the same character she plays on Warehouse 13. It looks like Skiffy is trying to link all their Monday night shows together. Maybe they're going to do a big crossover in the future? The concept is kind of cool and kind of cringe-provoking at the same time.
I continue to enjoy Warehouse 13, but the development of Jenks feels a bit forced. What's wrong with having a taciturn agent who doesn't chat about his past? And, honestly? I want more Lena. And could we possibly get a season without a Big Bad? Just, y'know, character development and wacky artefacts.
Speaking of Big Bads, it looks like the Trust is plotting something on Eureka. Which, so far this season, has been a bit wonky. Felicia Day and Whil Wheaton totally need to look at playing characters other than Codex and Fawks. Honestly, guys! Stretch those acting muscles already!
The new ep of Torchwood comes on tonight and I think this ep marks the halfway point. Only five more to go. I've heard rumors that the villains are going to be revealed tonight. People have mentioned "the Family" is behind Miracle Day, which instantly brought two possibilities to mind. One is the Family Slaveen, who've tried to blow up the world a few times and failed spectacularly each time. The other is the Family from the ep of Doctor Who, when the Doctor briefly became human. Perhaps they've managed to slip their chains. Immortality as a crazed revenge scheme? I know I'm wrong with the guesses, but I seriously hope the show's writers don't do something sad like space-vampires. Eh.
That's pretty much it from my corner of the world. Got to get back to wrestling with the aliens now. I'm on page 175 of the Story That Never Ends and I've still got a ways to go.
