Goddamnit, South Carolina!

I was going to come here and talk about the anime I've been watching, but then I saw the latest update regarding Dreamwidth legal battles and that now no one under 18 in SC can create a new account on the site. Apparently, sometime yesterday the Foghorn Leghorn impersonator a.k.a. Governor Henry McMasters signed a law into immediate effect banning anyone under 18 from using social media. So far, according to DW, there's nothing necessitating age verification for existing accounts, but if that kicks in I'm going to be super-pissed and probably have to shut down this blog. And I've had it for ages!

Here's hoping that doesn't happen, but knowing this state I wouldn't put it past 'em to require age verification on social media sites, lumping them in with the porn sites. Yeah, my backward ass state requires third-party age verification to access "adult sites" too.

God, I miss the old days when only a handful of people were on the fucking internet.
