Last week, I decided to switch things up a bit, diet-wise, and go from a low-carb diet to a low-fat diet. Because I was feeling nostalgic and, to be quite honest, I miss eating fruit. You can't really have fruit on a low-carb diet. Just berries. I hate berries.
I, maybe, overindulged a few days with some low-fat cookies (Ginger Snaps), and had chocolate bars a couple of times last week that were definitely NOT low-fat, but overall I stuck to the diet. Which meant eating a lot of vegetables, fruit and chicken.
I can honestly say that I didn't feel hungry most of the time. Actually, I felt a bit stuffed. During the day, I rarely ate except when I was at work. I'm basically one of those One Meal A Day dieters. I don't even really snack.
So I was concerned that, after being low-carb for so long, that when I went back to low-fat I would add on some pounds.
That didn't happen.
I stepped on the scale this morning and discovered I hadn't lost any weight. BUT, I also hadn't gained any weight. I'm still at 253 lbs.
Apparently, whatever I eat doesn't matter. My body seems stuck at this particular weight. I'm debating whether or not I should switch back to low-carb this week. Or if I should just throw the diet thing out altogether and just count calories.
I do know that I'm NOT going to join a gym. Exorcise is for masochists.
