So, today I went out and hit the local 'health food' stores looking for this chickpea butter that I'd heard about in one of the FB groups I belong to. It's supposed to be low-sodium and low oxalate and taste like peanutbutter. According to the company website the Whole Foods store near me is supposed to carry the brand, but when I went by they only had alternate nut butters.
So, I went by this other market, much smaller but more specialized, but they didn't have it either.
It was very irritating, so when I went marketing tonight I said 'Fuck it!' and bought a 2.5 ounce bag of potato chips. That little bag took 53 of my daily 100mg of oxalate, but it was totally worth it.
As I write this, I still haven't hit my oxalate limit. I'm at about 65ish, I believe? So, that's good.
And I did find some new foods I could add to my diet, while I was out, so that was good too.
That said, 'healthy foods' are freakin' expensive!
