Tonight, I did a solo dungeoncrawl using a homebrew system I've been building.
On the first crawl, my PC got three rooms into the dungeon before being killed.
On the second crawl, I decided to make my PC more experienced (more Health! Yay!) and gave him a partner. This time, the duo got 21 rooms into the dungeon before meeting their end.
Ironically, all the PCs died at the hands of the same character type, a Goblin Paladin. However, the first PC died in battle, while the duo died after losing a riddle-contest. So, that was fun.
I still need to work out some kinks in the mechanics/rules, but overall I'm very satisfied. And it lets me scratch not only my worldbuilding itch but my desire to dungeoncrawl as well.
