The nostalgia is strong today. Wandered through an old blog I used to keep, when I was really into music, and got a swift kick in the memories. So here's a list of musicians/bands I was into, way back in the early 1990s.

100 Cool Points to anyone who's heard of any of these guys:

Kiddo - Remember that singer, Tiffany? Now imagine a band full of Tiffanys(Tiffanies?), all of them wearing denim overalls and pastel blouses underneath them. Yeah.

Kevin Hell - OMG. This guy tried way too hard. He looked like Jim Morrison, only with Kiss-style white and gold facepaint, and all decked out in black leather. As I recall, he only did covers. I don't think he ever sang anything original.

The Shire - A folksy band that got together because they loved Tolkein. Very mellow. They sort of reminded me of The Mammas & The Papas.

John Rose - Generic 90s pop & hip-hop performer. Voice was okay. He had great hair.

Sonja Trash - She had a mohawk and dressed in a lot of leather and fishnets. You'd think she would be the typical angry punk rockers, but her sound was more like Siouxie Sue.

The Disease - A Ramones knock-off band. As I recall, they were all blonde and kind of dirty looking, like a bunch of homeless guys with musical instruments.

Yellowstone - A trio of big dudes who used to rap about issues back in the day.

The Blooms - Generic 90s alternative band. I don't remember a single one of their songs, but I clearly remember the lead singer's light green eyes.

Anticult - Group of buzzcut white boys shouting angry rock songs into the void. They were queercore, like a seriously pissed off version of Pansy Division. They didn't sing about making out with guys, they sung about setting Pat Robertson on fire.

Massacre of Reason - Goth band reminiscent of Cradle of Filth, at least IMHO.

Good times.
