Ninety-nine percent of the time, I really like my local comic shop. I've been going there for years and know most of the staff by face, if not name.
But sometimes they just do bonehead stuff.
A while back, they finally joined the Silicon Age and established a webpage, complete with notices on when comics actually come in. This is a useful item to have here, because during the winter, comics don't always make it in on Wednesdays or Thursdays. It's gotten to be a habit of mine, to check the status board on Wednesdays, so that I can spare myself a trip to the store if nothing has come in.
I checked yesterday and today and both times the status board had not been updated. Presumably, this weeks comics were running late. Given the weird ass weather we've been having lately this was not unexpected.
Then, this evening, I check the status board again. This weeks comics did come in on Wednesday and they just "forgot to update."
Aaarrgghhh!
Getting to the comic shop two days late might not be a big deal for the mainstream readers, but I buy mostly indy books. My shop doesn't order a whole lot of indy books. So when I go by tomorrow, chances are they're going to be sold out of stuff that I'd actually buy!
Way to shoot yourself in the foot, guys!
