So, just finished watching the last David Tennant episode of Doctor Who. Overall, I'd say it was a great success, although the mystery of "The Woman" lingers. Did like the last bit, where, prior to his regeneration, the Doctor gets to say a last goodbye to his old companions. The bit with Captain Jack was amusing, and I'm a bit miffed that we didn't get to see any interaction with River Song. You'd think, considering the impact she had on his life, that he'd take a trip to the Library and say a final goodbye. And is it wrong that I hope we've seen the last of the Master? Somehow, though, I doubt it. They'll drag him back out eventually, although hopefully we won't have to suffer through any more of that drums nonsense.
The Doctor's regeneration this time was, literally, explosive. In the last three minutes of the show, Matt Smith does a great job of taking the role. The bit where he's feeling his long hair and going, "I'm a girl?!?" Then, "And still not ginger!" were really funny.
And where Tennant's catchphrase through the series was "Alon-ze!", I think it's a pretty safe bet to make that Smith's will be "Geronimo!"
I look forward to the new season. - MEL
