So, I didn't get the specialist position at the Job of Doom that I applied for.
On the one hand, I'm kind of bummed about that.
On the other, I'm kind of relieved.
The pay raise would have been nice, but this is a "technical" job and I wasn't sure I wanted to jump into it, sight unseen.
Also, if I may be totally honest here for a moment, I think the application process was rigged. They had these self-assessment questions that you could only answer "Yes" or "No" to and most of them seemed geared toward people already experienced with the job.
Eh.
I don't care.
In about a month, I'll be putting this night shift behind him.
I shall frolic in the sun (Ha!) and live like an ordinary person for the first time in fifteen years.
Honestly, I won't know how to act.
