The vent is done.
I called this other place and they had a guy out here at noon. He had the job finished by two-o-clock and I dropped the inspection notice and my copy of the repair bill with my realtor this afternoon. Then I sold another box full of DVDs to the used book store and carted a trashbag full of old clothes to a charity shop.
Finally! Things are moving again!
