Okay, I wasn't planning on buying this book yesterday, but I did. Was it interesting? Kind of. Was the big reveal of who Flashpoint Batman was a shock? Not at all. I think everyone with half a brain saw it coming.
Other things.
The Outsider. At first, I thought he was Lex Luthor, but according to the Geof Johns interview at CBR he's a new character. Okay.
The Shazam Kids. A total riff of Captain Planet, with a bit of Battle-Cat thrown in for extra ridiculousness. Interesting point: one of the Shazam Kids makes a Hogwarts reference, but in the Flashpoint Uni, the U.K. was invaded by the Amazons. Makes you wonder what happened to J.K. Rowling.
Blackout a.k.a. Farouq LNU. A new character or an old one? He can project electricity, but I can't think of any current male characters in DC with that power, outside of Static. And I'm pretty sure that Blackout isn't Static, unless there's been another coloring gaff.
Citizen Cold. Okay, I'm curious. Is he a vigilante or a criminal?
Piper is still gay in the Flashbpoint uni.
How the hell did Cyborg get to be the most respected hero in the Flaspoint Uni? I suspect his back story is quite different.
Element Woman? Zany, sweet and rapidly approaching annoying after only a few panels.
The Secret Seven. Heh. Fun. Nice to see Shade and Enchantress again.
Will I get the next issue? Don't know. I'm undecided.
Will I get the one-offs? We'll have to see.
