Looking for a job can be dispiriting at the best of times.
Now, imagine that you're looking for a job in an area of the country where the only work to be had, easily, is outdoors and involves pulling stumps out of the ground.
Yeah.
That's the situation I find myself in.
I'm not averse to hard work, but I don't want to work outside. I've never enjoyed the outdoors and if you stick me in the sun for too long I'll react in a manner similar to cheese. It just ain't pretty.
It doesn't help that my MS Office is way rusty and my Excel-Fu is not even worth mentioning. Tomorrow, I shall have to bite the bullet and get one of those "Idiot's Guide to" books, to brush up on them both.
And I need to find a job.
Mom's been great, letting me stay here, but this won't work for the long term. Not without me biting through my tongue.
I reached a point yesterday where I saw a posting with the regional office of the old Job of Doom and clicked on 'Apply.'
How bad is that?
And to top it all off, I just signed back into Facebook at my sister's request.
Pheh.
More later. - MEL
