More good news, everybody! :D
Jan. 4th, 2010 06:33 pmCame into the Job of Doom this afternoon and found a message waiting for me from Supervisor V, asking me to come see her. So, off I gallumped to her office.
There, I was given some excellent news. HQ had approved our staff increase, so they were going to take one of the specialist positions and make that a staff position for yours truly. In addition, they had contacted one of the old applicants for the last night position we had opened, and offered her my position which she accepted! So, my replacement will be in the office around mid-February. I'll probably be tasked with training her for my shift, so I'll be moving to days sometime around mid-March from the way things look now.
The technical position which they originally offered me, they're going to post generally. I may or may not apply for it. I haven't decided yet.
Still not sure what I'd be doing on days, but I suspect they will stick me on the switchboard and move Coworker Y to another position. Coworker Y takes a lot of medical leave and if I'm on the switchboard her absences would cause less disruption. Or, I could be working on one of the units as a de facto secretary.
I don't know, and I don't really care.
All I know is that there's a light at the end of the tunnel and I'll be getting off this damn shift and away from these damn crazy people even sooner than I had anticipated!
2010 is shaping up to be a great year!
