J.D. Sallinger, RIP
Jan. 28th, 2010 05:49 pmJ.D. Sallinger, the author who is best known for his novel, Catcher in the Rye, has died at age 91.
I remember reading Catcher in the Rye when I was a teenager. The book resonated with me, but not for the usual reasons. I remember, quite clearly, thinking that Holden Caufield was a prick, one of the "phonies" he took such issue with.
Ah well. Now that Sallinger is dead, want to bet that his estate authorizes an official sequel to the book?
