Star Trek: Open Space
Jan. 5th, 2011 01:45 pmA few years back I started writing fic set in the Hidden Frontiers universe. For those of you who are unaware, Hidden Frontiers was a fan-made webseries that spun out of events from the cannon movie, Star Trek: Insurrection.
I'd never really been interested in writing Trekfic before, but Hidden Frontiers was interesting. So, I threw my hat in the ring and decided to write a fic series following the end of the first webseries.
The other day, after almost a year's hiatus, I finally finished the Open Space series. When I went back and looked at it, in its entirety, I was shocked to discover that I'd written almost 250 pages of fiction set in that uni.
I've been feeling a bit low lately, wondering if I could ever produce anything of real length and interest again. Now that I look at this series, I feel much more confidant that I can produce something of interest to people.
So, thanks Hidden Frontiers. You gave me a lift just when I needed it.
