Crazy Impulse

Today is my birthday, and even though I am a card-carrying adult, most of the time I still feel like a kid. Maybe that's why I have this crazy impulse to get into my car and drive west until I reach the Pacific Ocean.

Road trip!

As soon as my laundry is done in the dryer, I'm tossing some clothes in a bag and heading west! I'm sort of aiming for Carmel, CA 'cause I like the name, but if I don't make it all the way to the Pacific I won't be too upset.
So, flist, any advice on things to do, see or avoid?
