So, instead of bitching about the DCNu anymore, I thought I'd try to pitch some ideas of my own. So, without further adieu, I give you DCUnique.

Superman
The Last Son of Krypton, young Kal-El survived his homeworld's destruction by being sent to Earth. Discovering the infant, Martha and Jonathan Kent adopted him and raised him as their own. The year was 1932.
Twenty-five years later, the world would thrill to the exploits of the Superman. As the protector of Metropolis, Superman would foil the schemes of crimelord, Lex Luthor, time and again. Clark Kent would achieve personal success, becoming a respected reporter at the Daily Planet and, eventually, marrying his colleague and rival, Lois Lane. Then tragedy struck. Jonathan Kent died from a heart attack. Still reeling from the loss of his adoptive father, Superman would have to contend with the alien menace of Brainiac. Their battle would lay waste to the city of Metropolis and, inadvertently, lead to the death of Lois Lane Kent. Brainiac would be driven off, but victory was hollow for the Man of Tomorrow.
Weeks later, Martha Kent would pass on quietly, in her sleep, leaving her son with no close emotional attachments to his adopted world. Departing Earth, Superman would pursue Brainiac across the stars, becoming a hero of galactic proportion. Eventually, hero and villain would have their final confrontation on the planet, Colu, and Superman would emerge victorious.
Deciding to return to Earth, Superman would discover, to his shock, that decades had passed in his absence. The Twentieth Century had gone and the Twenty-First had arrived.
Now, finding himself in a world as alien as any he had just departed, the Man of Tomorrow struggles to make a life for himself in the world of today.
