Batman
Bruce Wayne was only a child when he saw his parents brutally gunned down before him. He swore revenge on their killer and spent the next decade preparing himself to find the killer and avenge his parents' deaths. Only time, it seemed, had done the job for him.
Bruce Wayne identified his parents murderer as Joe Chill, one of the faceless thugs who made Gotham City their home. And Joe Chill was dead. He had died, years ago, from cancer.
Feeling as if he had wasted the last ten years of his life, Wayne was consoled by his butler and former guardian, Alfred Pennyworth. Pennyworth suggested that perhaps Wayne could put the skills he had learned to use in another way.
Inspired by Pennyworth's words and a chance night-time encounter with a bat, Bruce Wayne adopted the identity of the Batman, the Dark Knight of Gotham City. Finding an ally in Lt. James Gordon, a rare honest cop among Gotham City's corrupt police force, the Batman confronted the bizarre villains that Gotham City seemed to produce with startling frequency.
But while Batman's reputation grew among the underworld, Bruce Wayne's life suffered. With only the loyal Alfred as a friend and confidante, Wayne lived in veritable isolation, devoting himself to his corporate empire by day and his mission of justice at night.
All that would soon change, however, as Bruce Wayne attended a charity circus and met a young acrobat named Dick Grayson whose life would soon take a bloody turn similar to Wayne's own.

Date: 2011-06-20 06:37 pm (UTC)From:I like the idea of the Man of Tomorrow having to play catchup, and Batman's origin having a bit of a spin to it. He's still angry, but now his anger is more about justice, not revenge. :)
The Wonder Woman revamp surprised even me!
