Oh fuck it
Jul. 15th, 2020 09:23 pmI am declaring today a Free Day because it has been A DAY.
It started with a bad bought of insomnia last night. I did not get to sleep until 730 this morning. I woke up around 1030 and made myself go back to sleep until noon, when my phone started to ring and I decided I should get up and start my day or I would regret it.
If only I knew....
The first left turn of the day was when I discovered that we had no water. Jorg forgot to pay the water bill. So, fun. I called him and told him the news and he said to come to the Store and get the water key since I couldn't find my Handy-Dady Wrench of Many Turnings.
So, I dressed in yesterday's clothes because, "Why not?" and out the door I went.
Before going to the Store,I stopped at my Credit Union and closed my account. Then I took that money and deposited it into my Evil Bank, thinking all the time that something was going to happen that would require this money. Because that is the way my life seems to work. I get ahead a bit and the Universe must slap me down and remind me that I cannot really progress.
After that, I went to the Store where I picked up the water key and hung out for a while giving many tummy rubs to Shadowpup, who sang me a happy song when he saw me. (Best part of my day.)
Then I went to get my oil changed and to the CBD Store on the West Side of Town. But the CBD Store was closed, so I drove to the one on the East Side of Town where I bought some oil tinctures that, hopefully, will help with my insomnia.
On the way back from the CBD Store, I noticed my engine was making a funny sound. I used to live on the East Side of Town, so I stopped at my old garage and asked them to take a look.
I'm glad that I did. I guess.
My water pump was about to go. If I had kept driving and it had gone, it's entirely possible that it could have fucked up my whole engine. So, I left my car at the garage on the East Side of Town and caught a cab home. It only cost me $40. *Fuck!* But at least the car was clean and the driver was really nice.
Got home and turned the water back on, then walked up the road to Klatu Barata Niktu, the local convenience store whose real name I can never remember, where I loaded up on junk food and returned home. When I did, I noticed a pile of random crap had been left by the back door: a big plastic tub, a fertilizer spreader, a collapsible wheelchair, an empty tackle box, an empty bowling bag and a little bag of kitchen utensils(?).
I called Jorg, but he did not know anything about the crap. He offered to give me a ride to the garage tomorrow,but I declined. Fuck it. I'll just take another cab and put it on my credit card.
My car should be done tomorrow by noon. It'll probably cost about $400 with parts and labor. After that's fixed, I'm going to come home and wash clothes in our dodgy washing machine, and maybe go look at a proper phone because I'm tired of my pay-as-I-go phone's battery dying on me after only two phone calls.
Oh. And I made tomorrow's video today because I don't want to think about trying to make a video tomorrow on top of everything else.
And that's been my day.
There's an expression I saw on one of my FB groups today: "Stars shine brighter in the dark."
I'm trying to shine. I really am.
But I mostly just want to punch/stab the world in the balls right now.
