It's a Stone
Nov. 1st, 2021 06:14 pmLast night, I had to go to the Emergency Room. I had a sharp pain in my left abdomen that I thought was a diverticular flare up, but was, in reality, a kidney stone.
So, I don't have diverticular disease.
Just a 9mm kidney stone that's too big to pass.
I had a procedure this morning (outpatient surgery) to try and remove it, but they couldn't get to it because my tube was too narrow. So they popped a stint in to widen my tube, and i go back next week for x-rays and possibly more treatment.
I was given a prescription for narcotic pain killers, and one to help alleviate the burning sensation when I pee.
Unfortunately, my pharmacy was out of the second, so peeing is NOT fun. But, hopefully, that will fade as time goes by? Maybe?
Definitely not looking forward to having the stint removed. I'll be awake for that when they go in, through the urethra with forceps and pull it out.
Just thinking about it gives me the heebie-jeebies.
