The Liam Solo
Dec. 2nd, 2022 01:11 amHyofir leads Liam to an abandoned shack, concealed by forest growth. She helps remove the arrow from his shoulder, but she inflicts some additional damage in the process. Liam learns that this section of country, known as the Wild Coast, is plagued by zombies that come out at night. He and Hyofir spend the night in the hidden shack, and the next morning part ways.
Liam FINALLY makes it to Mistgate. Outside the city, he meets a local luthier, an elf-man named Bel Ryda. They have a short, pleasant conversation and Liam joins the line of people waiting to enter Mistgate.
His first impression of Mistgate is NOT GOOD. After passing through the city gates, he finds himself in the Gallowswalk, a quarter filled with gibbits and gallows. The dead hang from hemp ropes and rot in metal cages, but not everyone in the cages is dead. Figures in black robes and bird-masks remove the most decayed dead.
Liam is rightfully apalled by this first glimpse of Mistgate. The people around him seem pretty blase about the whole thing. Some came prepared for the Gallowswalk, covering their mouths/nose with scented cloths.
Liam quickly leaves Gallowswalk, even more apalled when he realizes that people actually LIVE there, entering a Temple District. He begins to focus on practicalities: shelter, food, sleep.
And in the back of his mind he wonders: what does he do now?
* * * * *
So, Liam FINALLY reached Mistgate. He also got to level up this session. He took a +1 in Fortitude, so his defense should be better, and chose to take another level in Magical so he can now cast 4 different spells a day.
I thought Hyofir might try to rob him, but that didn't happen.
Now I (and Liam) have to figure out what the hell is he going to do now? I know WHY he chose to run to Mistgate, but I don't think he had a concrete plan what to do once he was there. Honestly, this campaign could go anywhere from here.
