Thanksgiving/Black Friday
Nov. 24th, 2023 10:04 pmThanksgiving was pretty much a non-event for me. I stayed home, ate a pizza, some apple pie and had a bottle of wine. It was very nice. Tried to find something to watch, but nothing appealed.
Today, Black Friday, was steady at The Store. Jorg showed up at 8AM, but the rest of us didn't have to come in until 10AM. Last year, no one showed up until then anyway, but this year people started arriving around 8:30.
Custom was pretty steady all day long. We never got a glut of people, but we didn't go empty at any point either. Jorg left around 6PM to celebrate his wife's birthday with her. I closed at 7PM, sharp, and stopped off at the market on the way home. I bought a bunch of grapes, a cucumber and a head of lettuce.
At the house, after taking care of the kitties, I had a salad w/cucumber slices and shredded cheese, a couple of pieces of toast, some OJ and some grapes afterward. I was hoping the roughage would kick in and I could maybe offload some of my Thanksgiving dinner, but it hasn't happened. YET. But the way my stomach is gurgling, I think it's inevitable.
I think tomorrow will be busier than today and I have no idea what Sunday will be like. I suppose we'll find out.
