Karen Star is a woman without a past.
As a child, she was found wandering the shores of Martha's Vineyard with no memory of who she was or where she came from. Scooped up into the state childcare system, Karen fell under the influence of the covert organization, SHADE. They tried to turn her into a weapon, a mindless soldier and failed spectacularly.
Now, an independent young woman, Karen is building a life for herself in Platinum Flats. As the founder and owner of Starware, Karen's future looks bright.
Unfortunately, her past is about to catch up with her. At the launch party for Starware, Karen is attacked by the demon, Etrigan.
As if that wasn't bad enough, SHADE wants her back and they've sent Major Force to make that happen.
But Karen's enemies have made a serious mistake if they think she'll hand over control of her life to anyone. And Major Force and Etrigan are about to find out just why Karen Star is called Power Girl.
