I'm in the process of posting a short story to Kindle. So far the experience has been somewhat frustrating. Mainly because they seem to assume that everyone writes in MS Word. Hate to disappoint them, but some of us prefer Corel WordPerfect. No biggies, since you can upload files in other file formats, or you're supposed to be able to do it.
My attempt to upload my file as a simple txt file was a disaster. I experimented with some other file types and decided that rtx was the lesser of evils. I'm not super-thrilled with the way the preview presented the text. Basically, during the conversion process it eliminated all my paragraph indents, so the story is basically a huge block of words that stretches from side to side of the preview screen. I'm hoping the actual kindle edition will look better, but I'm not holding out a lot of hope.
Anywho, my story is In Review status right now, but once it's jumped through all the hoops and is available for publishing, I'll let folks know about it.
