So, I'm not sure if LJ is fucked up again or if I've just got a shitty internet connection, but in either case, I'm writing this from a Holiday Inn Xpress in Yulee, Florida. About ten miles down the road is Fernadina Beach, and Amelia Island. I wandered around Fernadina Beach a bit. The beach is nice, and the Historic Downtown is very charming, but it feels charming in a deliberate sort of way. Almost as if it's trying too hard to be historic.
The drive down yesterday was not fun. I ran into severe thunderstorms a good part of the way and could have sworn I saw a funnel cloud form in my rearview mirror once. Yeah, that's really what you want to see behind you. Ha!
Tomorrow, I'm heading west toward the Emerald Coast. Maybe. I don't know, I'm sort of rootless at the moment, going where the wind takes me.
Hopefully, the next place I stay at will have a more stable internet connection. This piece of shit I'm on right now keeps kicking me off.
