There are three huge pecan trees in the back yard of my Mom's house. Lately, we've been going out and gathering up the fallen nuts, and shelling them. That's what I've been doing all morning. I have calluses on my hands. I can't recall the last time I had calluses on my hands.
Anyway, the next time you're enjoying a tasty pecan pie or such, give a thought to all the poor bastards(likeme) who had to shell those damn nuts.
