Been a while since I posted anything about my Sims and, since it's been a slow day, I figured I'd bore you all with my game. :)
A while back I moved all the families from the pregenerated neighborhoods into the House Bin and then used them to populate a new neighborhood, Simville. I'm actually quite pleased with the way Simville has turned out.
Into this burgeoning neighborhood, I moved Adam Founder. Adam was a nice Virgo with the Family aspiration. At first, I thought I was going to hook him up with one of his neighbors but then Bianca Monty sashayed by and Adam was inundated with little hearts. Yeah, he thought she was the best thing since sliced bread. So, sorry Kate O'Malley, but you and your whimsical pirate-themed clothing will have to find someone else.
It was ridiculously easy to get Adam and Bianca together. I don't think I've ever had a Sim relationship develop so quickly. It's like they went from strangers to in love overnight. With such excellent chemistry, the wedding went off without a hitch and they proceeded to woohoo.
And the good news continued. Biana got pregnant on their first try.
But then, things got kinda hectic because, completely uninfluenced by yours truly, she gave birth to twins. A boy and a girl. Brandon and Bonnie.
The kids were pretty cool, although twin babies are hard to manage at times. I got so desperate that I wound up hiring a nanny just so I could give Bianca a break by sending her off to work. Seriously. Those kids just kept her status bars in the yellow. Not a good sign.
Well, the kids started to grow up. They made friends and, for a change, the odious Marsha Bruening was not one of the classmates they brought home from school. Bonnie seemed to take a shine to Alexander Goth, while Brandon was smitten with Juliette Capp. At this point, I think I should point out that Brandon is the nice twin and Bonnie is the bad one. Seriously, that girl is just mean! One of her greatest pleasures in life was inviting someone out to play catch and then throwing the softball right at their heads. Seriously.
So, things were going along swimmingly. Adam and Bianca were advancing slowly, but surely, up their respective career ladders. The kids got into private school. Brandon had a dream date with Juliette and Bonnie, somehow, got another Sim boy all hot and bothered.
Then, the last day of teenhood came which, coincidentally, was also the day their parents converted from adults to oldies. I sent the kids off to Simville College, packing off Juliette and Alexander with them.
And that's where things went to pot.
The freshman year went by in a blur. Adam was studying Art and Juliette was studying Economics. Both kids got engaged to their respective partners. Then, a bad Social interaction put all four relationships in the red. Bonnie and Juliette were becoming friends and what should have been a Friendly Hug became a Leap into Arms, which is a romantic interaction. This happened in front of their fiances.
There was much slapping and shouting after that and I wound up having to micromanage the four kids through their sophmore year to repair the damage. And then, Juliette and Bonnie went into the red again! Juliette walked in while Bonnie was giving Alex a peck. I guess there were unresolved romantic feelings between the two girls which leads to all kinds of lesbian college cliches that I'm not going to make here. Their relationship pretty much tanked and remained in the red for the duration of their college experience. :(
Still, everyone graduated which was nice and I could start focusing on the third generation. I decided right away that Brandon was the family heir. I moved him and Bonnie back home and Juliette and Alexander back to their respective families. After getting everyone situated for a day, it was time for some marriages.
I had Alexander Goth marry Bonnie and move into his home. A brief makeover later and she really looks like a Goth, with her drape hairstyle and slinky red-black dress. Alex had a change of wardrobe as well: the addition of sunglasses and the change from shorts and a shirt that not even Goopy Gilscarbo would wear into the Dracula Tuxedo.
Brandon married Juliette Capp and moved her immediate family (Consort, Tybalt and Hermia) into the Founder Home. That necessitated expanding the house, but you can never have enough bathrooms. I was a bit nervous about moving Consort in because he was always stealing the Founders' newspaper, but he's done pretty well. Tybalt has actually been very pleasant to handle and Hermia isn't high-maintenance which is a nice change.
Brandon and Juliette woohooed for the first time and got a baby. The third generation of Founders was on the way, but I was a bit worried that Juliette wasn't going to survive the pregnancy. Four of her status bars were constantly in the red during the entire pregnancy. She would starve unless I fed her two or three plates of food at a time. Her hygene bar was constantly red and so was her bladder bar. I was certain she was going to die right after giving birth, but the minute she had the baby her bars lightened up.
The baby, by the way, is a little girl named Charlotte who has her mother's red hair and her father's brown eyes. So far, with five adults and two teens in the house, taking care of this kid has been a breeze.
I'm wondering about the future though. Which of Charlotte's grandparents will be the first to die? Adam? Bianca? Consort? Should I send Hermia and Tybalt to college? If I do, should I bring them back as playable characters? And should Charlotte be the heir to the Founder name? Or do I dare to put Juliette through another pregnancy in hopes of a boy?
Decisions, decisions.
