So, today is sort of a milestone for yours truly.
Today is my twentieth anniversary with the Job of Doom.
Yep, you read that right.
Twenty years.
It's been . . . interesting.
In a sort of Chinese curse may-you-live-in-interesting-times-kind-of-way.
They're probably going to give me a key or something to mark the occasion at the Job of Doom today.
I'm not really looking forward to that.
It's awkward and stupid and after twenty years you'd think they'd give you something more valuable. Like, say, a raise? Maybe a one-time bonus?
Eh.
I'm not going to go all sour grapes.
Not today.
Because I do have twenty years in and I'm doing better than a lot of other people.
I'm grateful for my job and what it's allowed me to do.
I just think I'm ready to try something else.
Thinking of the future. - MEL
