Hee. Sometimes, I amuse myself. Over on Life of Hazard I decided to flesh out the world a bit by talking about the new television season that starts this month. To do that, I had to flesh out the world of entertainment. I've already noted the partial destruction of Los Angeles a few years back, but in this post I talk about The Big Two; the two television networks that dominate the public airwaves. The Big Two were created when the old television networks were forced to merge to survive, as cable, the internet and independent stations showing syndicated hits started draining viewers and revenue. The Big Two are ACS and The Box Network.
ACS, or the Allied Communications System, grew out of ABC and CBS. The Box Network was created when FOX allied itself with NBC. The Big Two have been around for about ten or fifteen years.
