It's been a little while since I updated folks on my situation.
This past Tuesday, I went into the hospital and had my procedure that removed the stone blocking my left kidney. They took out the old stent, performed the lithroscopy, and put in a new stent. The new stent has a string hanging out that is very off putting. I was told I could take it out myself, but fuck that. They put it in, they can take it out. So, I'm going to the urologist's office this Monday to have it taken out, while under the influence of nitrous oxide.
I have spent all of this week in my bedroom, sitting on the couch, watching YouTube, Netflix and anything else I can find to distract me. The new stent has been a bit of a bugger, achey as fuck, and the drugs I've been on haven't been that great either.
I had four prescriptions to fill. Only two were necessary. The others were optional, for pain management. One I've been taking, because it makes urinating easier, the other I haven't touched. After the stent removal this Monday, I keep taking one of the prescriptions for another three days, then I'm drug free.
I've gotten the first of the bills, and they were not as bad as I feared. Thank God.
Hopefully, the rest won't be as bad, either. *Fingers crossed*
I haven't gone into work this weekend. I think I would have been as useful as tits on a mouse. Jorg has been very solicitous of me this week. I have to think of some way to pay him back for all of his kindnesses.
Thanksgiving is this week, but its not even on my radar. And Christmas? Pheh.
I just want all of this over with so I can get back to something resembling my usual life.
Also, I got a phone call from my sister the other night, which was a bit shocking. We don't talk in real life. We interact mostly on Facebook, so it was unusual and sweet of her to call and check up on me.
She's having knee replacement surgery later this month, so it seems as if everyone is getting hit with something medical right about now.
Anyway, it was nice to hear from her.
