I was wandering the canned soup aisle when a pair of young men in severe black suits came up to me.
Guy 1: "Excuse us, sir. We're with a major religious organization and were wondering if you had accepted Jesus Christ as your personal savior."
Guy2: *looks vaguely embarrassed to be there*
Me: "No, I haven't."
Guy 1: "But he died for your sins, sir."
Me: "Did he? That was nice of him, but I didn't ask him to."
Guy 1: "But..."
Me: "And really, would a good person hold something like that over someone else's head? Isn't what you're doing the equivalent of emotional blackmail?"
Guy 1: *looks vaguely startled*
Guy 2: *trying not to laugh*
At that point one of the store employees came up and shooed the two guys off, because they'd been getting complaints from other customers.
Pity.
I was sort of wondering what Guy 1 would have said eventually.
