So, Liam departed for Frostkeep, helping to guard a wealthy woman, her son and their two servants, alongside Ulda Bordis and some other hired guards.
The weather was pretty miserable. The party stayed at inns, on the first leg of the journey, along the coast road. When they headed inland, they stayed at the estates and homes of Madame Yellowstar, their employer's, friends and acquaintances.
It was a pretty dull trip until near the end when the group encountered an irate water elemental. Liam, another guard named Delwyn, and one of the servants, were pretty banged up by the time the group dispatched the creature.
They made their way to an outpost, where they stayed the night and the wounded were tended and restored by a healer.
The next day, the final day of their journey, they departed for Frostkeep.

Okay, so this session pretty much bored me. When my PCs travel, I use a standard deck of cards to determine if there's a Threat on the trip. If I turn over a spade, a Threat occurs. I turned over three Spades, but decided the first threat would be Bad Weather, the second was the Water Elemental and the third threat, to be encountered next session, remains unknown.
I have a quickroll chart I use to determine Threats and lately it's been producing Elementals. Fire Elementals in Wildbrook, Plant Elementals on Master Orla's expedition and now Water Elementals on this Escort Job. I think I need to add more variety.
Haven't done much with Ulda Bordis this session, even though now she's a PC. The focus is still very much on Liam.
The other guards are vague sketches in my head: the dwarven couple, the elf cousins from the North, the big human woman called Queenie, another elf. They're mostly cyphers, not fleshed out, even in my head.
Did add a couple of new places and things to the World File: Frostkeep, the Darkell Wastes, Naead's Rest.
Added a couple of new gods to the roster: the Sun-Child and the Mender. The Sun-Child is a gender fluid solar diety that presents as a child; the Mender is a god of healing.
Hopefully next session is more interesting than this one.
