I found a new AI art site called Catbird that I've been experimenting with for about a week. It's image generation features are quite advanced, although, as I've discovered previously, AI is incredibly stupid. Just because I put the word 'superhero' as a prompt does not mean that I want images with random characters all wearing the Superman 'S' shield or having Batman-like ears. And none of the generators seem to be capable of producing images with more than one specified person in them at a time. They can do groups of random, generic people, but, say, I want an image of Tony Stark and Bruce Wayne sitting in the back of a limosine, I'll get an image of two Tony Starks sitting in the back of a limo or just sitting in various places.
It's very stupid and I'm pretty sure the artist community doesn't have a lot to worry about. At least, not for a while.
In it's way, Mage.space is a better generator. The prompts are more involved, but you have more control, and even if the results aren't what you expected, they could still be useable.
Mostly, I've been using Catbird to generate ridiculous book covers, movie posters or concept art for odd things. Like, say, a zombie movie set on the London Underground. Or a cover for a book about a goblin falling in love with a unicorn. Y'know, the usual stuff. Some of the results have been hysterical, but others have been, if not useable, then at least interesting to look at.
Still, if AI was a person, it'd be one of those crazy people on the street, shouting at the sky about lemon drops causing the Apocalypse.
