I decided to read a bit before going to bed and wound up finishing all of T. Kingfisher's Thorn Hedge.
I enjoy fairy tales and that's what the book is, a sort of reinterpretation of the Sleeping Beauty story. I can't really say more without giving away the plot.
I did enjoy it, even if it did drag a bit in some places, and I've decided I will take it in to the Store tomorrow and let someone else enjoy it.
I've read four books by T. Kingfisher now: A Wizard's Guide to Defensive Baking, Thorn Hedge, Nettle & Bone and What Moves the Dead. The quality varies a bit, but overall, I quite like how she writes. There's another book out now, A House With Good Bones, but I haven't managed to snag a copy just yet.
Next on the reading stack is No Coincidence, a Cyberpunk 2077 novel by Rafat Kosik. The tonal/genre jump should be interesting.
