Went and saw my Mom today, after a longer than usual period. She was in good spirits, although she did shit-talk some of the family, but not like the last time. She had some special words for my brother-in-law, regarding drinking on the water (Which, in all fairness, is STUPID),but I pointed out that my sister is a grown-ass woman and if she's content in her marriage it's none of Mom's business. Then I got the lowdown on one of my first-cousin's wives, who had to go to the hospital to get her big toe amputated after it got infected; she's diabectic, but has been ignoring it, so she has some other health stuff going on too.
I don't really communicate with my cousins or their kids, and I'm kind of glad that I don't. Just from what I get second-hand, and from what I've seen on social media, their lives are a string of dumpster fires.
I also don't really interact with my sister, except through the socials,and she doesn't post drama related stuff online. Honestly, I think most of her posts are curated as carefully as any politican's public feed.
Left mom and came home, stopping off at the grocery store to grab some eats. While I was ringing my stuff up at the self-checkout this young woman and her child come up and park their asses right behind me, waiting on me to get done. She was very much in my personal space, and she jumped the line of other people waiting, which just pissed me off. And as soon as I'd finished bagging my stuff, she starts unloading her crap on the little shelf. She was just pushy and rude, but I left without saying anything, although I'm pretty sure my annoyance was obvious. Some people. SMH.
Home now, eating chicken salad and grapes in front of the box fan, and contemplating a prospective side hustle.
