Today has been very draining.

I got to The Store this morning and discovered two dead birds and a black lacy bra outside on the sidewalk beneath the store mural. After disposing of that, and scrubbing most of the skin off of my hands, I opened up the Store. It was a very rainy day and one of the old leaks, right above a display of priced books, found new life. Thankfully, nothing was damaged. I pulled the display away from the wall and checked for other leaks but there were none. Eventually, the rain stopped and the sun came out and then the customers came in, and it was a pretty typical Sunday.

As I was leaving the Store though, I noticed a homeless couple next door, at the recently shut down cleaning service, apparently setting up camp. I thought about calling the cops. The last thing we want is an abandoned storefront to start serving as a homeless camp. But I decided to wait and see what happens. If they start gathering there, I'll definitely be on the phone with the cops. We had a bad homeless problem in the area a little while ago and the sheriff's department was really good about rousting them out.

After work, I drove up to Northeast where I had a tarot gig for an old client. She wanted me to read her and her daughter-in-law's cards. It was a lot of fun. The daughter-in-law asked all sorts of questions and the client was so pleased that she gave me a $20 tip and asked if I was available for a Halloween party. I had to explain that I never work on holidays.

Then it was back home, with a brief stop at the grocery store, to grab some corn chips and a strawberry margharita. Had a nice shower and slipped into my jammies, and am about to relax with some YouTube or maybe a movie.

Hope everyone out there has had a good weekend.
