Okay, I know that, officially, spring has already begun for most of you. But for those of us living in the Last Frontier, spring doesn't officially begin until you take the snow tires off our car and switch 'em out for your ordinary tires.
I had that done today.
The first place I went to had a waiting list of about seven hours, so apparently everyone else in Anchorage had the same brilliant idea as yours truly.
The second place I went to, on a whim, only had a waiting list of about three hours. I signed up and it actually only took 'em about two hours to get me done.
In the meantime, I walked over to Title Wave, had lunch in their overpriced cafe, bought a copy of Christopher Moore's You Suck, and got about halfway through it before the car was done.
Afterwords, I stopped off at Barnes & Nobles where I didn't buy anything but a glass of Coke from their cafe before heading home. Stopped off at Fred Myers to grab some tortilla chips and a soda, then popped into Blockbusters and rented Sukiyaki Western, a movie that is always out whenever I come in.
Came home, put snow tires away, finished reading You Suck and am now looking for something to do between now and the start of Halloween on cable.
