Bea Arthur, star of stage and screen, died today. She's probably best known for her roles as the title character of the CBS sitcom, Maude, and Dorothy Zbornak of NBC's The Golden Girls. She was 50 years old when she broke into television, appearing on All in the Family as a foil for Archie Bunker. Prior to that, she had worked on and off Broadway as a stage actress.
