We're having some spectacular weather here in Anchorage right now. The sun is out, the sky is clear and the thermometer is approaching the 70 degree mark.
Yes, I know for all you sunbirds down in the Lower 48, 70 degrees may not sound that warm, but tell me how you feel after languishing in zero degree weather for a few weeks.
I got off work the other night at 11:00 and realized that the sun was still out. It was bloody great. Of course, all this extra sunlight means that we don't get much of a night. So trying to sleep, even with blackout curtains, can be something of a challenge. I've been hitting the sheets around 5:00 or 6:00 in the morning, then getting up around 1:00 in the afternoon or later. As a result, I'm rushing around when I get up, trying to get stuff done. Still, this summer is shaping up quite nicely and I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world.
