One part of my job is opening incoming mail to the Job of Doom.
Because of paranoid security issues, this means I have to open the mail in a HEPA unit.
Basically, it's an isolation tank for mail. The idea is that if there's any anthrax-tainted powder in the envelope, it will be contained in the HEPA unit.
When I open the mail, I'm required to wear protective gloves. Usually, they're the typical disposable green gloves. Lately though, I've been using black latex gloves when I'm doing the mail.
And I love my black latex gloves.
Putting them on, tugging them securely in place, I feel like a fucking supervillain. A Mad Science supervillain working on something to frighten the world into sweaty, sexy submission.
Pulling on those gloves makes me feel sexy as hell and I've had to resist the urge to take a pair home and experiment with them.
If that's too much info for you, dear reader, I apologize.
But it's the truth.
I'm typing this wearing the black gloves.
Looking down at my fingers, at the featureless expanse of palm, I feel powerful and dangerous. I could strange someone right now and not leave any fingerprints.
Hell, I think I will take home a pair of these gloves tonight.
But I'll keep the details of any experiments to myself.
Probably.
More later. - MEL
