So, it's almost October and I'm still sitting in this damned condo waiting for someone to buy it off me. Honestly, I thought it would sell by now. The one across the way has sold, or the owner took it off the market. I'm not sure which. My upstairs neighbor, Mary, said it wasn't listed on MLS any more. I really hope it sold, because that would give me hope.
In other news, I have spent the last few days looking for a job.
I forget if I mentioned the job fair I went to last week. It was at this place, downtown, where I was interviewed by an embryo in a suit and tie. I suspect that company was just farming resumes, 'cause I haven't heard a thing from them since.
I put in a resume at the video store up the street, and broke down and got another resume for Barnes & Noble. And, like last time, I slept right through the alarm clock and missed their Monday morning group interview. Ah well, there's always next week. Right? Or maybe I should just take the hint and stop thinking about working there.
Today, I let my Temp Agency know I'm available, submitted an e-mail resume for a part-time Front Desk position at a Downtown Hotel, and sent off a query e-mail re the status of a Junior Production Assistant position that was posted on C-list last week. The ad's still there, so maybe the position is still open. Hopefully, someone will e-mail me back, desperate to hire a person with my particular qualities.
Other than that, there's not a lot going on with me.
I'm still banging my head against the wall with my book. I'm forty pages in and stuck. Seriously, I'm thinking that a mystery is just beyond me. I have a beginning and an end, but the middle is just escaping me completely. Plus, I'm bored with my characters. Does that ever happen to professional authors?
So, I'm putting the mystery aside and am taking a mental vacation and working on something completely different. Not fan stuff, not exactly. Maybe the bare bones of another RPG setting. I don't know. It's just an idea.
How are things with all of you? - xoxo MEL
